As the most common polishing tool, the abrasive paper mainly uses thousands of abrasives on the surface to complete polishing. Do you know how the sand on the abrasive paper are fixed?

Artificial abrasives have become ideal for making the abrasive paper, whose main components are silicon carbide and alumina, and the common characteristics are high-temperature resistance and wear resistance. When the paper passes by, the abrasive sand particles in the air are attracted to the paper due to static electricity. In order to absorb enough sand particles, the paper will repeatedly enter the electrostatic chamber.

There are two types of abrasive paper. Generally, the mesh number is used to represent the abrasive paper's roughness, which is usually printed on the back of the abrasive paper. The mesh number is determined according to the number of sieve holes per square inch of the area, which means how many meshes there are: the more meshes, the more sieve holes per square inch, the finer the abrasive.

Now, the abrasive paper is not only a tool for polishing but also used to create all kinds of beautiful sandpaper paintings. The rough surface of abrasive paper is conducive to the adhesion of pigment, where the darker background can bring out bright colors, and abrasive paper has found a stage for its potential.
